Robsons Environmental is a family business through and through. Started by Murray Robson in 1975, it’s now run with his sons Justin and Keiran — so when you deal with us, you’re talking straight to the owners.

For more than 50 years we’ve been out there in Canterbury, tackling waste jobs of every size and shape. Septic tanks, effluent ponds, grease traps, sumps, spill clean-ups — we’ve seen (and emptied!) it all. No site is too remote, no job too messy, and we don’t stop until it’s done right.

What sets us apart is simple: the right gear, decades of know-how, and a crew that doesn’t muck around. We work to Environment Canterbury standards on every job, because looking after the land and the community matters just as much as getting the job done.

From one-off call-outs to ongoing maintenance programmes, Robsons are the trusted name in liquid waste solutions across Canterbury. Family-run, hands-on, and always up for the tough jobs — that’s who we are.

Our History

Murray’s sons, Justin and Keiran, joined the business in the mid 2000’s and today the business is run by them ensuring that you can always deal direct with the owners. Originally operating out of the home address, Robsons now have a yard in Hornby and Rakaia. The work has diversified over the years with Hydro Excavation and Jetting trucks being added to the fleet and more recently the acquisition of 4 tractor tankers used for servicing dairy operations.  The team has grown from three Robsons to four with older sister, Nicole ,joining as office manager. Along with 2 other office staff, 16 drivers and 2 workshop staff, the total team has grown to 24.  Robsons’ motto is still the same though – ‘You fill it, we empty it’. No job is too big or too small, no location too remote.

For 50 years Robsons have been the trusted partner for Canterbury’s liquid waste removal. From the big industrial players to the local septic tank, Robsons does it all.

Community Involvement

Robsons are proud supporters of the dairy industry and community. With strong roots in Selwyn and in particular Springston and Rakaia, Robsons give back to their community sponsoring the local Rugby, Netball and Golf clubs, as well as numerous field days and A&P shows throughout Canterbury. Robsons are also proud sponsors of the Brain Injured Children Trust and the Christchurch Special Children’s Christmas Party.
